Who Can Join the Credit Union?

Membership is available to persons who live, worship, or work in Ka’u. Also businesses and other legal entities located in the Districts of Ka’u and Puna Hawai’i; Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union; employees of this credit union; pensioners or annuitants from the above employment; members of their immediate families; and organizations of such persons can become members.

This is the formal description for the Field of Membership for the Ka’u Federal Credit Union. In summary, if you have a direct family or economic relationship in the district of Ka’u, you may be eligible for membership.

When you join, there is a $1.00 membership fee. This is a one-time fee. This is negligible as compared to all the benefits of membership. Once a member, a wide variety of loan, deposit and other financial services are available to you.
